Emergency Response Team (ERT) Training

We offer the following 2-day Emergency Response Team (ERT) Training based on our CIMAT (Critical Incident Management & Awareness Training) program.

First, REMEMBER “Run-Hide-Tell”.  If the situation dictates that an ERT can respond, this training could save more lives. Nationally, 40% of deaths in the UK are attributed to catastrophic bleeding,

CIMAT covers the following elements:

  • Security Awareness Training Foundational to the elements below
  • Terrorist Awareness Training
  • Catastrophic Injuries Training
  • Hostage Awareness Training

Our Emergency Response Team (ERT) Training program is a major product of our CIMAT program and is directed at individuals within organisations who are part of an Emergency Response Team (ERT), who would generally consist of Security, Fire Marshals and First Aiders and members of the Crisis Management Team. It also allows room to enable general employees who are not part of an ERT to support and or react effectively and confidently to a critical incident.

What’s the training for?

Training in dealing with Catastrophic injuries (Aftermath of attack) where the attack would/could include: (or a multiple of all)

  • Knife Attack (KA)
  • Active Shooter (AS)
  • IED (Bomb blast injuries – amputations, burns, catastrophic bleeding etc)
  • PBIED (Person-Borne Improvised Explosive Device)
  • Aggressive Vehicle As Weapon (AVAW)

How big can a class be?

Our Catastrophic Injuries Training (CIT) will cater for a maximum of 3 cohorts over a two-day intensive program, allowing a maximum of 36 learners.

It is important that learners have a current First Aid qualification as a pre-requisite to undertaking the program and that they should still have good knowledge. The importance of basic first aid is based on the advanced levels of learning involved in our course.

We offer pre-ERT course refreshers for those that need to “pep-up” their skills and we also offer First Aid at Work (FAW 3-day), Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW 1-day) for those who have no basic first aid training

CIT includes:

FAW level

Major wounds (moderate to severe but non-catastrophic) associated with any terrorist type attack mentioned above:

  • Bleeding
  • Bones
  • Burns

Advanced pre-hospital care

  • CPR
  • AED
  • Airway Management
  • Bag – Valve – Mask (BVM)
  • Emergency Oxygen

All the above will be delivered over two days, day 2 culminating in live scenarios with extremely realistic casualties displaying theatrical/cinematic wounds (critical amputations, bleeding and burns) which the learners will have to deal with and effectively and efficiently manage. Feedback will be given to all learners and clients.
